Why they chose to elope in Rovaniemi
Chantal and Christophe's elopement proves that love doesn't have a timeline. After 36 years together and raising their children, they had never imagined themselves tying the knot. Traditions simply never felt like who they were. After decades of shared life, they wished to celebrate their relationship. They dreamed of exchanging vows somewhere far from the ordinary, their search for the perfect elopement eventually led them to Rovaniemi, and from that moment, the adventure began.
Being immersed in the landscape was essential to them. They envisioned peaceful forests, and the warmth of a shelter with a campfire. Rather than following traditions, they wanted a day built around their connection, and the wilderness that would witness it all. As Chantal beautifully put it:
"We're celebrating what ties us together. We don't care about a white dresse and cake cutting."
And that's exactly what their elopement in Rovaniemi was all about: creating an experience that felt deeply personal, where the focus wasn't on expectations, but on the love and the memories they already carried and the ones the would for the rest of their lives.
